About this Kate
I am an athlete ~ now.
I used to be overweight, lazy, fat, etc… I wasn’t happy with myself and had low self-esteem. This is the last picture of the OLD me at 153 lbs in 2002.
Currently, I run, strength train and practice yoga to stay fit. Also, I try to eat healthy, non-processed foods in order to stay one with nature. I am open to learning anything new.
In addition to losing 20lbs and being healthy, I’m trying to accept my body for what it is. I do not believe in dieting.

Hey miss Kate — how tall are you?
5′4″ ~ 5′5″
Isn’t it funny how height is not an exact thing… I’m between 5′3″ and 5′4″. How can that be?
I don’t think I have bad posture… or that I really stand differently when getting my height measured… but it seems to fluctuate.
Hi Kate! I am 5′4″ on a good day and have a similar story. Started at 154 dropped to 133 and have maintained for 2 years. Now that I training for my first 1/2 marathon, I’m moving in the wrong direction. What are you doing to drop the final pounds?
hey kate - thanks for adding me to the friends list!
oh … I just noticed the google doc you have with the summary from In Defense of Food. I will be linking that often, I have the feeling.
Great job on the transformation!! Aside from my goal to be a triathlete I want to loose about 50 lbs. Posting your story about the old you and the new you is a motivation for me…so thank you!
Hey Kate! Kudos on the no diet thing. I do lots of research in nutrition and lifestyle management and it is amazing what can happen when you treat the body right. I recently wrote a post titled: ‘Ever wondered why we gain 3-5 lbs after eating a 1lb dessert?” It helps explain some of the ‘non-caloric’ properties of food that rarely gets discussed. Check it out if you would like:
Thanks Kate! Love your posts - would you mind if I included you as a link?
