have you been measuring your progress in terms of bicep inches, quad inches, etc? doing any supplementing with protein? seems like not enough weight lifting for what you are trying to do.

Hi bigdave_nv,

Yes, I measure my progress with measurements, weight and keep detailed nutrition logs. And yes, I supplement with protein and other supplements suggested through a friend’s trainer (she has competed for years now in Figure Competitions).

I am looking to be a natural figure competitor next year. This is a lot of time to work up to it, since I could achieve this in as little as 12 weeks. I have decided to give myself more time which means my workouts can gradually grow.

It is not the same idea as being a bodybuilder and getting huge where I’d bench like 500lbs…

You can check out various workout information on bodybuilding.com if you care to. Their forums are great and their articles offer a great deal of information by professionals. Amazingly this type of achievement can even be done with two-day a week workouts all of which should be less than an hour, etc…

Things work differently for everyone and this works for me. It is a beginner routine to get back up to speed without stress or injury since I’ve been off for a few weeks of little or no intensity.

Thanks for your concern :)
